My Story

From the outside, I looked like a pretty normal kid.

I built forts in the woods, played Hot Wheels with friends, and grew up in a middle-class family. Nothing particularly unusual there. At university, I did well academically, threw myself into campus activities, and generally played the part of the ambitious overachiever. After graduating, I worked for a couple of Fortune 500 companies before eventually starting my own business.

Today, I own several successful businesses and have a family I love deeply. From the outside, my life probably looks pretty comfortable. Some people might even assume I don’t have much to worry about. And, for the most part, they’d be right. Except for one rather significant problem. I’ve had something nonhuman intruding into my life and into the lives of my family.

In 2010, I decided to start documenting the strange experiences that had been happening to me. What began as a personal journal eventually grew into a record of events I couldn’t easily explain, dismiss, or forget. For years, I kept most of it private. Now I feel compelled to tell the story.

I’m financially secure. I’m not writing this because I need the money, and I’m certainly not expecting “alien abductee” to become the cornerstone of my professional résumé. I’m writing because I think these experiences matter and people need to know the truth. I have a feeling they will come soon. And when they reveals themselves openly, I suspect the presentation may be reassuring: light, enlightenment, peace, perhaps even the promise that they’re here to help us. But based on what my family and I have experienced, I have serious doubts.

This book is my attempt to lay out what happened, as honestly as I can, and to explore the question that has bothered me for years:

Why are they here?
